As a recipient of a special Mercy Health Partners grant, HCC is able to provide food pantry services and print materials to clients with special dietary needs, e.g., gluten allergies, diabetes, high blood pressure.

Holton Community Center - Food ProgramAs part of that food support service, we require that recipients meet with a client advocate to analyze monthly income and expenses. This private meeting includes a review of the actual bills and receipts for income and expenses. Additionally, we verify all social security numbers for everyone in the household; please bring those cards with you. This meeting is specifically designed to help the client determine how the resources they have can go further. We also discuss possible referrals for additional assistance.

HCC provides Money Management classes 2-3 times a year. Anyone may participate in our Budgeting classes, which include confidential budget review and four two-hour classes that build skills to strengthen the participants’ ability to make their budget resources stretch.

Our budget coaches are trained by Love INC, an HCC collaborating partner, and we include Love INC financial management materials.
